Common Questions
What is the County Clerk requirement?
No county clerk step is needed in Alaska. The Lieutenant Governor authenticates documents notarized by a commissioned Alaska notary public, or official certified copies of Alaska vital records, court or other state documents.
Can I walk in?
In person only by appointment: call (907) 465-4081 before visiting the Lieutenant Governor's office in Juneau. Most orders are mailed, and the office aims to return them the same day they arrive.
