How the New System Works

Connecticut has modernized its apostille process. Instead of downloading a PDF and writing a check, you now complete the entire "paperwork" side online. This reduces errors and provides tracking.

Step 1 — Prepare Documents

Ensure your birth certificate, marriage license, or other document is a certified copy signed by a local registrar or the State Vital Records office.

Step 2 — Apply Online

Go to the Official Portal. You will need to create an account on the portal if you don't have one.

  • Select "Apostille Request".
  • Enter the destination country.
  • Pay the $40.00 fee securely online.

Step 3 — Print Receipt & Mail

After paying, you will receive an Order Confirmation / Receipt. Print this out!

⚠️ Critical: You must include the printed receipt in the envelope with your documents. Without it, your request may be rejected.

Mailing Instructions

What to Put in the Envelope:

  1. Original Documents.
  2. Printed Online Receipt.
